Submit Written Testimony to Support Senate Bill 1598

Senate Bill 1598 protects access to preventive care and helps ensure Oregonians can continue to access evidence-based preventive services without new barriers or delays. It allows Oregon to act nimbly, giving the state authority to issue standing orders and respond quickly when federal changes puts access at risk. It also ensures continuity of coverage by updating Oregon’s insurance code to June 30, 2025 preserves coverage for widely supported, evidence-based preventive services.

We need advocates to submit written testimony in support of this bill. Submit your testimony online in under a minute following the steps below. It's important to show as much support as possible through written testimony. The hearing is scheduled for Monday, February 9th at 3:00pm and all written testimony will be due 48 hours after the hearing!

To Submit Written Testimony

  1. Write out your story about barriers or confusion you faced this fall, your support for broad vaccine access in Oregon, and/or the need for Oregon to ensure immunization recommendations are based on science. Focus on your personal story and keep the message positive (feel free to send to us if you need help!

  2. Navigate to the Bill’s Testimony Submit Page.

  3. Make sure the correct committee is selected from the drop-down menu (Senate Committe on Health Care), and choose the meeting date of the bill’s public hearing. (February, 2025 at 3:00 PM)

  4. Select the bill you’d like to submit testimony for (Senate Bill 1598)

  5. When the contact information form comes up, enter your information and for "Position on this bill" select "support"

  6. Submit a text testimony or upload a PDF.

  7. Click "I'm not a robot" and then "Submit Testimony"

  8. Written testimony is due by 3pm on Wednesday, February 11th.
